In alignment with RINA’s commitment to sustainability, our Federica Santelia, Francesca Diana, and Sara Sanetti recently embarked on an offshore field trip to ensure offshore activities align with marine habitat and species conservation.
We took a comprehensive approach to data collection. Direct observations of marine species around the offshore platforms were carried out, providing valuable insights into the local ecosystems and the potential impacts of Oil & Gas activities on marine life.
We conducted interviews with a diverse group of stakeholders, including local fishermen and environmental organizations. These interviews were essential in gaining an understanding of the perspectives of those directly involved in offshore operations and marine ecosystem services.
The data collected will help assess the environmental implications of offshore activities and pave the way for planning future mitigation measures and nature-positive actions.
Our specialized multi-disciplinary biodiversity and ecosystem services (BES) team is composed of professionals with expertise in ecology, biology, environmental, and natural sciences.
We apply internationally recognized tools and methodologies throughout all project phases to ensure that impacts on biodiversity and ecosystem services are avoided, minimized, restored, and offset.
