RINA issued the first ISCC PLUS certificate to the silicon industry in the world

On March 17th, 2023, RINA issued the first ISCC PLUS certificate of the silicon industry to Anhui Axi Green Technology Co., Ltd. The company, mainly focused on the production of silicon dioxide using rice husk instead of traditional quartz stone, is also the first organization in silicon industry in the world to obtain the ISCC PLUS certificate.
The ISCC PLUS certification system supports the circular economy and bioeconomy by offering a certification that promotes an environmentally, socially and economically sustainable production. With the ISCC PLUS certification, the raw material collectors, traders, and producers can demonstrate compliance with the sustainability and GHG criteria required by the circular economy and bioeconomy.
The delivery ceremony was held at AXI’s headquarter, i.e. Quechen Silicon Chemical Co., Ltd. in Wuxi, China, where Mr. Marco Maggialetti, Senior Director of RINA Certification International Growth, handed over the certificate to Mr. Weidong QUE, Chairman of QUECHEN listed company. The ceremony was attended by Ms. Jessica Xiao, Key Account Manager from QUECHEN, Mr. Jun Zhou, RINA China carbon manager, Ms. Cherry Zhao, RINA China Senior Business Advisor and other colleagues. After the ceremony, the two parties continued to further explore possible cooperation in carbon, energy, transportation, infrastructure, and other fields, and reached preliminary intentions, laying a good foundation for further development in various fields in the future.
