Steel treatment lines

Enhance the product corrosion resistance

Although both product quality and steel makers’ capability to satisfy end-users’ demands are rising, the near future will require a further step ahead in pickling, annealing and electrolytic coating technologies.

RINA approach to process/product innovation concerning pickling, annealing and electrolytic coatings is based on a detailed analysis of the process to be optimized or innovated in order to enhance the product’s corrosion resistance.

This is attained either by designing and realizing sophisticated laboratory process simulators or by developing simulation/prediction models able to determine the most significant parameters and set the optimal operating conditions for the process.

Deliverables

We are able to cover any needs along the whole product development chain:

  • Basic know-how development at laboratory and pilot plant scale
  • Process & plant scaling-up through the definition of industrial process conditions
  • Technological assistance for plant design, construction and tuning
  • Industrial plant operation practices optimization
  • Product development and application engineering.

Focus on labs

We are equipped with a complete and autonomous set of experimental facilities:

  • A high current density Zn electro-deposition apparatus for laboratory studies
  • A low-sludge tin-dissolution prototype reactor
  • Laboratory scale electrolytic cells for the simulation of pickling process set-up.
