Top project: BAMBOO scales offshore solar technology to large, standardized formats, enabling the transition to gigawatt-scale farms. It addresses key challenges in sustainable deployment, creating a reference system for global offshore solar projects.
We are developing advanced industrial technologies and materials to improve efficiency, performance, and sustainability in various industries.
Top project: HYDRA integrates hydrogen technologies into steel production by building a “mini steel mill” where hydrogen replaces carbon as a reducing agent in a Direct Reduction Iron (DRI) plant. This approach reduces CO2 emissions while maintaining high steel output, pioneering decarbonization in the steel industry.
We are working on projects to develop smart cities that leverage technology and data to improve urban living and sustainability.
Top project: EHHUR introduces a co-designed methodology that integrates existing best practices with the New European Bauhaus and EU Missions principles to guide urban transformation. It involves seven Lighthouse demonstrators, promoting collaborative urban development across diverse European regions.

Top project: MULTICLIMACT creates a comprehensive framework and tool for assessing building resilience against climate hazards, integrating human well-being into the analysis. It offers cost-effective design methods and digital solutions that empower stakeholders to evaluate and improve resilience throughout the building life cycle.
We are undertaking initiatives to advance ESG objectives, drive sustainability, optimize resource efficiency, and support the circular economy.
Top project: PLASTICE develops and demonstrates four cutting-edge plastic waste valorization technologies: cascade enzymatic hydrolysis, combined gasification and chemical post-treatment, hydrothermal liquefaction, and microwave-assisted pyrolysis. These innovations aim to enhance plastic recycling efficiency through real-world collaboration with EU waste managers.
We are committed to improving water management and developing sustainable solutions to clean wastewater before any discharge to the sea.
Top project: RHE-MEDiation integrates micro-algae-based remediation technology with existing water treatment systems to improve pollutant removal. It uses mobile and fixed sensors for real-time monitoring, enabling data-driven management while engaging local stakeholders through demonstrations and replication sites to enhance community involvement in pollution control.
We strongly support a sustainable maritime transport and blue economy through dedicated initiatives spanning from regulatory to adaptation and validation of new solutions.
Top project: ENGIMMONIA tackles decarbonization in the shipping sector by showcasing ammonia as a clean fuel for on-board energy solutions, including electricity and HVAC systems. The project promotes replicability across business models, regulatory frameworks, and naval classifications to facilitate a sustainable transition in maritime operations.
