20 Jan 2020

Seven companies from Enel Group in Romania certified with ISO 37001, an international standard that recognizes the existence of an effective anti-bribery management system.

At the end of 2019, seven companies part of Enel Group in Romania have obtained the ISO 37001certification, an international standard that acknowledges that companies have a solid anti-bribery management system in place.

"Achieving the certification for seven companies part of the Enel Group in Romania confirms, once again, Enel’s total commitment to an ethical culture in conducting its business, demonstrating that our procedures and processes are in line with the highest international standards” Carlo Pignoloni, Country Manager Enel Romania

The evaluation of the anti-bribery management system and certification of its compliance with  ISO 37001 standard was carried out by RINA, who performed the verification process for Enel România SA, Enel Servicii Comune SA, Enel Energie SA, Enel Energie Muntenia SA, E-Distribuție Muntenia SA, E-Distribuție Banat SA and E-Distribuție Dobrogea SA in 2019.

This consisted in a rigorous analysis of the relevant processes, procedures and activities of the companies subject to certification.

"I want to congratulate you on your involvement in the certification process, you have a very well-trained team, with whom we have worked effectively. For RINA it was a pleasure to collaborate and it is an honor to have you in our client portfolio. The fact that in just one year we were able to certify 7 companies from the Enel Group, shows your active involvement during this process" Alessandro Romei, EMEA Senior Director at RINA.

The ISO 37001 standard aims to prevent bribery and promote an ethical, transparent, open, and compliant culture, requiring the companies to implement a series of measures such as the adoption of anti-bribery policies through the leadership and commitment of the top management, training of personnel in this area, periodic assessments of bribery risks, and due diligence in projects and business relations.

The standard ensures and confirms the implementation of an anti-bribery management system to all stakeholders, generating greater confidence in the market, upholding the value of the brand, increasing the value of the shares, being part of the sustainability indicators.
