Water Europe: collaborative efforts to achieve a water-smart society

We align with the strategic priorities of the European Union in the realm of water conservation

Water is a vital resource and a key element of sustainable economic and human activities.

Recognizing the significance of preserving and protecting water resources, our strategic project, RHE-MEDiation, 'Responsive hub for long-term governance to destress the Mediterranean Sea from chemical pollution,' supports the Water Manifesto prepared by Water Europe, and our presence at the event reaffirms our commitment to the future of water in Europe.

This manifesto calls on policymakers to adopt an ambitious and holistic European Water-Smart Strategy with strategic political accountability within the Commission for its next term, 2024-2029. 

RHE-MEDiation: aligning with the EU's Mission

RHE-MEDiation aligns with the strategic priorities of the European Union in the realm of water conservation. These priorities are outlined in the Marine Strategy Framework Directive, a key EU tool for preserving the health of European coasts, seas, and oceans, serving as a pivotal instrument to protect and conserve the health of its marine ecosystems.

RHE-MEDiation's objectives are in line with the broader mission of the EU and involve collaborative work with key stakeholders and experts in the field of water management. By addressing pressing water challenges and working towards innovative solutions, the project exemplifies the proactive approach needed to safeguard water resources for the long term.

Water Knowledge Europe: fostering collaboration

In line with our commitment to water conservation, we recently participated in Water Knowledge Europe, a specialized brokerage event that serves as a platform for networking, knowledge exchange, and collaboration.

During this event, we engaged with a range of experts and officials who shared insights on water-related topics and provided guidance for the successful preparation of project consortia.

Collaborative initiatives like Water Knowledge Europe play a vital role in fostering knowledge exchange, innovation, and international cooperation, which are fundamental in safeguarding this invaluable resource.
