We have officially become an associate member of the African Hydrogen Partnership (AHP) with the intention of actively participating in the development of hydrogen, hydrogen-based chemicals, electrolysers, fuel cell technology and related business opportunities in Africa.
AHP is the only continent-wide association dedicated to the development of the hydrogen industry and value chain in Africa. It represents the whole continent and all its nations, while strengthening alliances with organizations from anywhere in the world.
Andrea Bombardi, Carbon Reduction Executive Vice President at RINA, says: “This collaboration is very important for RINA, since our global footprint and exposure to multiple markets allows us to establish a bridge between Europe and Africa, both in terms of expertise, opportunities and consistency of policies and regulations.”
In conjunction with our African footprint, our expertise in technologies enables us to open new hydrogen corridors, supporting local and international initiatives while acting as a system integrator along the entire hydrogen value chain.
“Due to our expertise in regulatory certification and consulting engineering, we are well positioned to address hydrogen investments and projects, as well as to offer new opportunities in regions with abundant energy resources”, concludes Bombardi.
Dr Innocent Uwuijaren, AHP Director and Chairman, says: “We are delighted that RINA has joined the AHP. They offer a wide range of services across the whole hydrogen sector, including consulting engineering, inspection, testing and certification of renewable energy and green hydrogen projects. These services are an important part of the overall hydrogen ecosystem which provides assurances to not only plant operators but also investors and regulators. We look forward to working together to accelerate the safe deployment of green hydrogen in Africa and I am sure that RINA's services will be of value to other AHP members.”
