Review of the RINA rulesWe published the new reviews of the RINA rules for the issue of Factory Production Control (FPC) certification and for the issue of certification of constance of product performance, according to regulation (EU) NO 305/2011 relating to construction products 

The rules will come into force on 15 October 2022 and are available on the website www.rina.org:

1. Rules for the issue of Factory Production Control (FPC) certification according to Regulation (EU) no. 305/2011 relating to Construction Products (Annex V point 1.3 – System of assessment and verification of constancy of performance 2+) (Document RC/C 16)

2. Rules for the issue of certification of constancy of product performance according to Regulation (EU) no. 305/2011 related to Construction Products (Annex V points 1.1, 1.2, 1.4 – Systems of assessment and verification of constancy of performance 1+, 1, 3) (Document RC/C 19)

The main changes are summarized below: 

1. Par. 2.1 " Reference legislation": inserted the reference to document EA-2/17 M: 2020 " EA Document on Accreditation for notification purposes";

2. Par. 3.8 and 3.9 "Issue of certification": made clear that the Notified Body is required to inform, in addition to the notifying authority, also the other Notified Bodies of any negative results of the activities performed (Article 53 of the Regulation (EU) no. 305/2011);

3. Par. 5.2 " Modifications to the Technical Specifications and rules": made clear that, in the event of changes to the Rules, the Organization is informed through the "Member Area" of the RINA website;

4. Par. 7.1 "Suspension of certification": clarified that the maximum period of suspension of the certification is six months, except for any suitably justified exceptions;

5. Par. 7.1 "Suspension of certification": made clear that, according to art. 53 of Regulation (EU) no. 305/2011, RINA informs the notifying authority of the suspensions that have taken place.
