Why SHIP2FAIR ?
Solar Heat Industrial Processes (SHIP) deployment is currently very low due to economic competitiveness, low prices of fossil fuels charged to industries and to the complexity of their integration in existing industrial processes.
SHIP2FAIR project consortium aims at solving this issue thanks to competitive and environmentally friendly solar technologies, innovative business lines and a user-friendly approach.
The project
SHIP2FAIR has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 792276 and its main objective is to foster the integration of solar heat in industrial processes starting from the agro–food sector, by developing and demonstrating at four real industrial sites the following set of tools and methods:
SHIP2FAIR Team
The Spanish research centre, CIRCE, leads SHIP2FAIR team, with a perfect balance of main partners from the Agro-food sector and key partners in solar technologies: Bodegas Roda, RAR Açucar, Martini & Bacardi, ABC industries, Cooperativas Agro-alimentarias de España, BIOENERGY 2020+, CEA, EDF, EUREC, Industrial Solar, ISMB, RINA, S.O.L.I.D and TVP Solar
RINA role
In the framework of SHIP2FAIR , RINA will bring industrial audit expertise, lead the realization of the Replication tool and support the development of the control strategy and the commissioning of the SHIP installations.
Moreover, we are going to benchmark the proposed solutions from the technical and non-technical point of view and support the replication and exploitation of the project (monitoring, market deployment roadmap, business model redaction etc.)
Kick-off meeting
SHIP2FAIR was officially launched during the kick-off meeting that took place on 17/18 April in Brussels, Belgium and it will last until March 2022.
