Amendment to Marpol annex II, IBC and BHC Code – Upcoming changes in the list of products after 1st January 2021

Two sessions of the same webinar to give you the freedom to select the time that works best for you

ships-chemical-tankersLast year the IMO has adopted amendments to the MARPOL Annex II - Resolution MEPC.315(74) and the IBC Code - Resolution MEPC.318(74) & Resolution MSC.460(101). The amendments are entering into force on January 1st, 2021.

These amendments are mainly relevant to the ship type, tank type, toxicity classification of the products which may be carried and newly defined persistent floating products.

As a result, each ship carrying dangerous chemicals or noxious liquid substances in bulk will have its list of products that it may carry amended, and most probably the ship will not be allowed to carry some of the products that previously was authorized to carry. In addition, the new definition of persistent floating products has the consequence to impose for these products stricter prewash requirements.

As regulations change, every ship manager and company need to identify what cargoes can be carried on their ships to meet the new requirements. In order to shed light on them, on Friday 9th October we are hosting two sessions of the same webinar to give you the freedom to select the session that works best for you. Join us to learn how to comply with the new obligations.
