Update on IHM and EU Ship Recycling Regulation

23 Apr 2020

A webinar focused on regulatory information and the role of Class in the compilation of the IHM

IHM-ship-recyclingThe EU Ship Recycling Regulation is entering into force on the 31st of December 2020, and from that date ships are required to have onboard an approved Inventory of Hazardous Materials. The IHM provides detailed information with regard to potentially hazardous materials utilised in the construction of a ship, its equipment and systems.

The Ship Recycling Regulation aims to reduce the negative impacts linked to the recycling of ships flying the flag of Member States of the Union. The Regulation lays down requirements that ships and recycling facilities have to fulfil in order to make sure that ship recycling takes place in an environment sound and safe manner.

On April 23rd, RINA is hosting a webinar to share information and update on the obligations imposed to shipping companies by the EU Ship Recycling Regulation. We will discuss the preparation from shipping companies and the role of Class in the successful completion of the IHM activities. Register to our webinar and find out how RINA can help you to comply.
