On 8 November, in Terni, RINA Consulting – Centro Sviluppo Materiali and Acciai Speciali Terni will present the 4th Edition of the “Design Manual for Structural Stainless Steel”. Participation to the seminar is free and each participant will receive a copy of the manual at the end of the day.
The 4th Edition of the Manual collects the most recent experimental evidence of stainless steel’s structural behavior and report consistent design formulations, compatible with Eurocode 3 (European standard for steel structure). The presentation will focus on:
The design methods are supported by experimental data from both base stainless steel material and full-scale structural elements. Stainless steel is compared to the more traditionally structured carbon steel, showing that, in regards to its aesthetics and corrosion resistance characteristics, it can offer better load bearing capacity, toughness and ductility.
All these properties make stainless steel an attractive solution for structural applications. RINA Consulting – Centro Sviluppo Materiali and Acciai Speciali Terni have been collaborating for 20 years in the development of the structural application of stainless steel.
The research and dissemination activities are partially funded by the Research Fund for Coal and Steel (RFCS Dissemination Project 709600).
