RINA

Challenge

Saipem do Brasil has been carrying out major oil and gas projects such as Spoolbase Búzios 5, Búzios 7, and Lapa, conducted primarily in Brazil and partially in Cape Town (Africa).

The execution of these projects demands rigorous technical control, standardized processes, and highly qualified teams, particularly in the context of renewed industry growth and increasing demand for specialized professionals in Brazil.

Within this scenario, RINA was engaged as a strategic partner to deliver specialized QAQC technical services, ensuring compliance with the highest standards of quality and operational safety.

Applied expertise

Over recent years, RINA has played a key role in supporting Saipem’s projects, providing QAQC services, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspections, and Pipe Tally (pipe reception and tracking) to ensure full compliance with technical specifications and client requirements.

The scope of work included:

Inspections in welding, coating, and non-destructive testing (NDT);
Supervision and quality control of pipe reception and traceability (Pipe Tally);
Specialized technical support for both onshore and offshore operations;
Compliance assurance with technical standards, operational procedures, and client-specific requirements, including those of Saipem and final clients such as Petrobras.

With a team of certified and experienced professionals, we ensured safe, efficient, and consistent execution of all activities, strengthening the client’s trust and consolidating a long-standing technical and commercial partnership between both companies.

Impact

Our continued participation in the Spoolbase projects demonstrates technical consistency, operational excellence, and reliability in its long-term relationship with Saipem.

Key outcomes include:

Full compliance with project specifications and quality standards;
Agility and flexibility in the mobilization of professionals, even amid a highly competitive labor market;
High client satisfaction, evidenced by ongoing service requests and contract extensions;
Formal recognition through a Technical Capacity Certificate issued by Saipem, highlighting RINA’s technical performance and the professionalism of its teams involved in the Búzios 5 project.

These achievements reinforce the strength of the partnership and mutual trust built over the years, positioning RINA as one of the leading providers of specialized technical services for the oil and gas sector in Brazil and abroad.

The success of the Spoolbase Saipem do Brasil project reflects our commitment to quality, technical integrity, and operational safety.
