The implementation of ENEVA’s Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and regasification units in the state of Maranhão required rigorous technical control and strict quality assurance throughout all phases of manufacturing, assembly, and commissioning.
The central challenge was to ensure that every piece of equipment, system, and process fully complied with contractual and regulatory requirements, guaranteeing operational integrity, safety, and reliable performance.
In addition to the technical complexity, the project presented logistical challenges, with simultaneous operations at different locations, the Parnaíba Complex (Santo Antônio dos Lopes) and Suzano’s industrial site (Imperatriz). This demanded high-level coordination, planning, and integration among field and factory teams.
ENEVA S.A. selected RINA Brasil to deliver specialized QAQC, inspection, and expediting services, covering the entire fabrication and assembly cycle of the LNG and regasification units.
The scope of work included:
- Welding, electrical, and fabrication inspections;
- Supplier expediting and vendor inspections;
- Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT);
- QAQC supervision by specialized engineers;
- Full control and traceability of materials, documentation, and inspection records.
RINA’s team stood out for its agility in communication with manufacturers and contractors, the efficiency of quality control implementation, and its coordination capability among multidisciplinary teams. The result was a precise, on-time execution with no critical non-conformities.
