The FSSC 22000 (Food Safety System Certification) standard establishes the necessary requirements for producing and marketing products and foods that are safe for consumers.
In particular, it applies to producers of perishable animal products, vegetables, long-life products at room temperature, food ingredients (excluding technical and technological adjuvants).

Regulatory Focus

The FSSC 22000 scheme integrates the International Standard ISO 22000, the applicable PRP (e.g. ISO/TS 22002-1 for food manufacturing or ISO/TS 22002-4 for food packaging ,manufacturing), and the specific FSSC additional requirements. The scheme is supported by the CIAA (Confederation of Food and Drink Industries of the EU), and approved by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).
