Defence Supply Chain Operational Model

The DSCOM team were tasked with compiling a complex schedule and allocating the MoD wide air transport requests

The existing model “Fusion Cell” was constrained in both function and logic requiring manual adjustments and limited to 3 monthly airport transport tasking. RINA were subsequently contracted to supply expert operational modelling expertise.

The existing “Fusion Cell” was reviewed against the current DSCOM tasking process. The logic related to allocating and scheduling MoD tasking requirements was both constructed and agreed. The limitations within the existing model were identified and the scope of requisite changes/updates to the model was agreed via DSCOM. A new model was developed and independently verified and validated.

The Benefits

Having worked closely with RINA on a number of deliverables I’ve been very impressed with the ability of its staff when dealing with ambiguity, especially the capacity to quickly assimilate information delivered from a multitude of sources.
