RINA attained the Gender Equality Certification

20 Dec 2023

A continuous commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

RINA Gender Equality CertificationAs part of our commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, we are pleased to announce that we have obtained gender equality certification for RINA S.p.A., RINA Services S.p.A., RINA Consulting S.p.A., and RINA Check s.r.l.

What is gender equality certification?

Gender equality certification is part of Mission 5 of the Italian National Plan for Recovery and Resilience (PNRR), which aims to promote greater inclusion of women in the labor market, improving social and territorial cohesion and the country's economic growth.

The Italian provision PdR 125:2022 of the Italian Unification Body (UNI) defines the requirements for a gender equality management system in organizations, to promote gender equality, value differences and prevent discrimination and inequality in the workplace.

Why is it so important?

Gender Equality Certification is a valuable recognition for organizations wishing to engage in promoting gender equality.

This certification attests to the actual implementation of a gender equality management system, represents a cultural evolution, and offers benefits to companies, such as a tax relief and rewards when participating in public tenders.

Why did RINA decide to undertake the certification process?

RINA is one of the first nationally accredited bodies to issue gender equality certification according to UNI/PdR 125:2022 to other companies.

We wanted to lead by example and demonstrate our commitment to gender equality, diversity, equity, and inclusion, so we started the process to obtain certification for RINA S.p.A., RINA Services S.p.A., RINA Consulting S.p.A., and RINA Check s.r.l.

As a further improvement action, we set up the DE&I Guide Committee, which is responsible for monitoring the progress of the actions put in place and approving the use of dedicated economic-financial resources to increasingly promote inclusion, equity, and diversity within our organization.

We obtained the UNI/PdR 125:2022 gender equality certification and the achievement marked the natural consolidation of RINA's transformation process, which promotes a culture in which all people are encouraged to lead by example, to develop new ideas and to be valued for their uniqueness.
