Certify your processes according to ISO/TS 22163 (ex-IRIS) and demonstrate compliance with international railway industry requirements
In the railway sector, characterised by high requirements for safety, reliability and supply chain control, organisations must demonstrate compliance with internationally recognised standards.
ISO/TS 22163, historically known as IRIS (International Railway Industry Standard), is today the global benchmark for assessing railway industry management systems.
Based on ISO 9001 and tailored to the specific needs of the railway sector, ISO/TS 22163 certification enables organisations to improve processes, strengthen credibility and facilitate access to international markets.

What we offer
RINA supports organisations throughout the entire ISO/TS 22163 certification process, in accordance with the scheme defined by UNIFE (Union of European Railway Industries).
The service begins with the organisation’s registration on the UNIFE portal and completion of the Information Questionnaire. Upon request, a pre-audit can be carried out to identify any gaps against the standard requirements.
The process then continues with the Readiness Review audit, aimed at verifying compliance with the prerequisites, followed by the certification audit conducted by qualified auditors.
In the event of a positive outcome, ISO/TS 22163 certification is issued. Certification maintenance includes annual surveillance audits, and a recertification audit every three years, ensuring continuity and reliability of the management system.
As a certification body approved by the Union of European Railway Industries (UNIFE), we provide technical expertise and extensive experience in the railway sector, supporting organisations throughout the ISO/TS 22163 certification journey and contributing to the improvement of management systems and market credibility.
