Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging

At RINA, diversity is expressed through intergenerational dialogue, the promotion of equal opportunities and geographical diversity as a driver of innovation

RINA Diversity, Equity, Inclusion

A global identity that hears every voice

At RINA we are committed to creating an environment in which everyone feels that their true identity is respected and valued.

We are a multicultural and multidisciplinary company in which the people and their skills are our greatest value. That's why we have drawn up a DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging) roadmap with clear objectives and measurable targets, which guide us on our growth path.

To reinforce the “One Company” culture, we have introduced the concept of Belonging: with the aim of making every person feel part of the company, of growing in tune with the values of respect, equity and belonging, and of truly contributing to building an increasingly inclusive future.

The foundations of our diversity

Merit is the principle that guides all our decisions and is the basis on which we build our global Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (DEIB) strategy. We believe that valuing talent and skills is fundamental in creating opportunities and fair growth paths.

Alongside merit, our commitment is based on three pillars that reflect the diversity and complexity of our organisation:

Generations

In a scenario where five generations coexist, we promote intergenerational dialogue and collaboration between junior and senior talents, valuing their different experiences, skills and perspectives.

Today, four generations work together at RINA, each making their own unique contribution:

  • Gen Z - 10.73%
  • Millennials - 51.05%
  • Gen X - 32.32%
  • Baby Boomers - 5.90%

Gender

We are committed to overcoming gender stereotypes, particularly in STEM fields, through women empowerment actions, awareness programmes and professional growth paths that focus on merit, while fostering a gender alliance to build an inclusive and collaborative environment.

In 2025, women account for 33.6% of the workforce, while men account for 66.4%.

Geographies

Our global presence in over 70 countries allows us to build multicultural and multidisciplinary teams, able to merge local and global visions. For us, geographical diversity is a source of continuous innovation and enrichment.

In 2025, RINA gathers together people from 99 different countries, confirming that diversity of experience lies at the heart of our identity.

A commitment that takes shape in the latest projects

Mental health

We are committed to promoting the psychological well-being of our people, offering concrete tools and projects to face personal and professional challenges with awareness. Mental health is a priority for us because we believe that people's well-being is fundamental for a healthy, inclusive and sustainable working environment.

DEI&B Awareness Programme

A training course for our managers and the HR staff on unconscious bias and inclusive leadership. Through interactive workshops and case studies, participants explored strategies to enhance diversity related to gender, generation and geography, reinforcing their role in the creation of an inclusive culture.

DEI&B Acceleration Training Programme

A comprehensive programme that addresses three key themes:

  • Gender alliance: to value a person's skills and provide tools to recognise and address gender bias, fostering alliance and collaboration within our organisation and helping to break down gender stereotypes
  • Disability awareness: to recognise and support all forms of disability, visible or otherwise, through training and practical tools.
  • Generation awareness: to foster understanding between the five generations in the company, promoting effective communication and inclusive management of multi-generational teams.

Do you believe in our values?

Being an HR professional, my focus is towards identifying the best people for our organization without being biased by gender, religion, appearance, age or other factors nor to have prejudice towards any culture. We interact daily with all kind of nationalities and cultures and it is in our nature to treat them equally and with respect. Beyond any statement, we live this every day in all HR processes we are actively running within our organization.

Holistic approach in our hybrid work environment coupled with exchange of ideas among colleagues all over the world allow us to be an inclusive international company.

Moreover, our organization’s cultural mosaic belief with localized approach brings synergy in ethnically diverse team and make us the feeling of being part of the organization, both from a business and a human point of view.

My parents raised me with a sense that there were limitless possibilities in the world, and I wasn't defined by stereotypes or safe choices. Today I am the Head of Certification Eastern Europe Area, Business Development, with 24 Countries in my jurisdiction. RINA gave me the tools to develop my skills and to nurture my ambition. We are all encouraged to develop new ideas in the company, by respecting and embracing the traits that make us all different.

Having joined RINA in early 2022, I have come to appreciate the positive impact a diverse & inclusive culture can bring and I am glad that people from different genders and ethnic backgrounds are welcomed and supported. We can always do more but I am encouraged by the steps that have been taken so far to promote diversity & inclusion within the organisation and align behaviours and culture to enable all employees to achieve their potential in an authentic way.

My degree thesis was focused on the difficulty in finding employment for people with learning disabilities (drawing from my own experience). I have been working in RINA since 2013 and I deeply appreciate that my company values ‘diverse abilities’, considered opportunities, and carries out more and more initiatives and projects to promote inclusion.
