Acting together for a better future
Our journey toward sustainability is a shared effort, inside our organization and beyond:
- Inside our organization, we focus on everyday actions and initiatives that help everyone understand and adopt more sustainable ways of working.
- Outside our organization, we create innovative services that make a real difference, not just for our customers’ projects and businesses, but also for our communities, stakeholders, and the environment.
Together, these steps help us make sustainability part of everything we do.
In January 2023, we committed to the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi), a collaboration between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). The SBTi defines and promotes best practice in science-based target setting and independently assesses companies’ decarbonization targets.
In April 2025, RINA S.p.A. approved near and long-term science-based emissions reduction targets with the SBTi.
RINA’s Sustainability Report shares our journey toward a sustainable future. Published voluntarily every year since 2017, it is a testament to our commitment to transparency and meaningful engagement with stakeholders.
In 2024, the report became a strategic tool aligned with the European Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), enriched by a double materiality assessment and a comprehensive taxonomy analysis. This ensures that our sustainability strategy is both data-driven and informed by stakeholder perspectives.
The Sustainability Report 2024 continues to guide our actions, reflecting our values and dedication to creating long-term positive impact.
At RINA, we are committed to building open, transparent, and trustworthy relationships with all our stakeholders. Our Stakeholder Engagement Policy and Plan guide how we connect, listen, and collaborate with all Stakeholders.
We believe that building trustworthy relationships with our Stakeholders is a necessary foundation to develop and improve our long-term sustainability operations and strategy, as well as a vital tool in identifying our impacts, risks and opportunities in greater detail.
We joined the United Nations Global Compact in 2016 and continue to make sustainability a cornerstone of our strategy. This commitment guides not only how we work but also the value we bring to our clients.
We embrace the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact, covering human rights, labour standards, the environment, and the fight against corruption, and share our progress with stakeholders every year.
In November 2024, we became a Founding Member of the UN Global Compact Network Italy. This step deepens our contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals and strengthens our role in fostering ethical, inclusive, and transparent business practices in Italy and beyond.
