ISO 22005 - Traceability

ISO 22005 certification

The ISO 22005 standard supports businesses in ensuring - through a certification of compliance - that the business puts out location-specific, genuine and traceable food products at every stage of the supply chain.
The standard responds to the need for effective management and control of food traceability, both within the company and throughout the supply chain, in order to enhance the origin of the product and/or its particular ingredients, to enhance the value of its traditional significance, genuineness, geographical characterisation and/or production method.
On the European single market, voluntary certification of chain traceability is an important supplier selection criterion.

Certification Procedure

  • Compilation of the information questionnaire
  • submission of the technical/economic offer which, once accepted, constitutes a service contract
  • audit at the company and related reporting
  • in the event of a successful outcome of the previous phases, certification is assessed by a technical committee
  • in case of successful completion of the previous phases, the certificate is delivered to the company
  • annual audit to maintain the certificate.
