Privacy Notice

Pursuant to art 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (hereinafter, the “GDPR”) and in relation to data provided within the virtual event  IMPROVING SUSTAINABILITY IN THE MANUFACTURING SECTORS of the projects TOOL4LIFE, REFRESH, MAREWIND, ZEROWASTELIFE, RARE2, EPHAESTUS respectively under Grant Agreement No 101074299, No 101096858, No 952960, No 101114149, No 101092073, No 101058696, the attendee is hereby informed that its data will be processed by the following means and for the following purposes.

1. Data controller

The data Controller for the processing of your personal data in the context of this event is RINA Consulting S.p.A, whose registered office is in Genoa (Italy), via Cecchi 6, Tax code and VAT n° IT03476550102, as well as the Company(ies) in the RINA Group are Joint Controllers according to art.26 GDPR.  The Controller can be contacted via the contact details shown on the www.rina.org website, or via the e-mail address for the Data Protection Officer rina.dpo@rina.org.

2. Purpose of processing 

a. Your personal data are processed for the purpose to register You to the online event IMPROVING SUSTAINABILITY IN THE MANUFACTURING SECTORS through GoToWebinar event page.
b. In addition, with your explicit consent, your data will be processed to send you TOOL4LIFE via e-mails, newsletters, and/or advertising materials on dissemination and communication initiatives about TOOL4LIFE project and on similar topics. 
RINA Consulting S.p.A. is responsible for the overall organisation of the event as well as the communication with the participants before and after the end of the event. RINA Consulting S.p.A. will maintain and manage the web page for the online registration of the participants.

3. Legal bases

The personal data are collected and processed according to the follow.
The provision of data and related processing for the purposes indicated in point 2.a is necessary to guarantee the data Controller’s services you have requested, and for executing the requests made. If refused, you cannot successfully submit requests and cannot receive a response from the data Controller.
The provision of data and related processing for the purposes indicated in point 2.b is not mandatory but based on Your consent. You may, therefore, decide not to provide any data or subsequently refuse processing of data already provided, the only consequence of any such refusal will be that not receiving newsletters, e-mails and/or advertising materials on dissemination initiatives on similar topics.

4. Personal data processing

The personal data processing are contact data (first name, last name, organization, job title, nationality, email address) and user generated information (discussion chat logs, meeting recordings, file exchange), if any.
The data processors involved in the processing operation is GoToWebinar company which enables the realization of the event broadcast. Its privacy statement is available on the following link: https://www.goto.com/it/company/legal/privacy/international

5. Retention period

The retention periods for the personal data are as follows: the data for the purpose in section 2.a will be kept by RINA Consulting S.p.A. for a maximum period of 10 years from the virtual event. The purpose of sending e-mails and/or advertising materials on dissemination initiatives (point 2.b) will be automatically ended after 2 years from the virtual event.
The data registered on the GoToWebinar platform will be deleted automatically after 12 months from virtual event.

6. Recipients of the data

Access to your contact data is granted to designed TOOL4LIFE project’s partners. 
Without requiring your explicit consent, the Controller may communicate your data to supervisory bodies, judicial authorities, as well as to entities to which communication is mandatory in terms of the law, for carrying out said purposes. 

7. Transfers of data  

Personal data are stored on servers located within the European Union. In any case, it is understood that, should this be necessary, the Controller will have the right to move the servers even outside the EU. In such a case, the Controller hereby guarantees that transfers of data outside the EU will be done in accordance with the applicable laws, also by means of including standard contractual clauses provided for by the European Commission and adopting binding corporate rules for intra-group transfers. 

8. Rights of the data subject

As the data subject, you have the right to: 

1. obtain confirmation of whether personal details regarding you are processed or not, as well as to obtain a copy of said data; 

2. obtain an indication of:

  • the source of the personal data;
  • the purposes and means of processing;
  • the logic involved in the case of processing done with the help of electronic instruments;
  • the identity and the contact details of the controller, controller’s representatives, processors and data protection officer;
  • the recipients or categories of recipients to which the personal data can be communicated, or who can come to know the same as the designated representative within the territory of the State, processors, or employees who carry out processing; 

3. obtain:

  • updating, rectification, or completion of the data;
  • erasure, transformation into an anonymous form or blocking of data processed in violation of laws;
  • certification that the operations referred to in letters a) and b) have been made known, also in relation to their content, to those to whom the data have been communicated or disclosed by transmission, unless this is impossible or involves a disproportionate effort;
  • a structured format, from the Controller, commonly used and provided in an intelligible and easily accessible form with the personal data related to you, and, where technically feasible, to obtain transmission of said data directly from one controller to another; 

4. object to:

  • processing of your personal data, even if pertinent to the purpose for which they were collected.
  • processing of your personal data for the purposes of sending advertising or direct sales materials, or for carrying out market research or commercial communication, using automated telephone calling systems without an operator, by e-mail and or by means of traditional telephone and/or hard copy postal marketing methods. Such right of object may also be exercised only in part, thereby allowing the data subjects to choose whether to receive only communications using traditional means or only automated communications, or neither of the two types of communication. 

9. Procedure for exercising rights and communications

The Controller has appointed a Data Protection Officer, who can be contacted for all matters related to processing of your personal data, the exercising of related rights and withdrawing the consent given at any time.
Therefore, you may contact the Data Protection Officer by sending an e-mail message to rina.dpo@rina.org and to the TOOL4LIFE’s Dissemination Leader michela.mattia@rina.org.
