RINA supports companies in adapting to the new BRCGS Standard

On October 28, 2024, Version 7 of the BRCGS Packaging Materials Standard was officially released. This update introduces crucial changes for the industry and we are ready to support companies through this important transition.

With the aim of making the requirements clearer and more stringent, the new version represents a significant evolution that addresses common non-conformities of the previous version.

Key updates include:

- The continued evolution of product safety culture.

- Update to the requirements for hazard analysis and risk assessment systems in line with Codex Alimentarius.

- Continual improvement processes and implementation of systems.

- Global applicability and consideration of current GFSI Benchmarking requirements.

Version 7 also aligns the standard with current industry trends and practices, such as the inclusion of single-use disposable products.

Application Timeline:

Version 7 will become mandatory on April 28, 2025.

Until then, companies are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the new guidelines and update their systems to be fully compliant by the deadline.
