Do you know that almost 50% of the total energy consumed in the European Union is used for the generation of heat for either domestic or industrial purposes every year?
Most energy comes from the combustion of fossil fuels, such as oil, gas and coal, with an impressive environmental impact in terms of greenhouse gas emissions. For this reason, we believe that being at the forefront of Research & Innovation activities is fundamental to overcome this challenge and we are involved in several projects aiming at decarbonizing the Heating & Cooling sector, both at domestic and industrial level:
Today we are proud to announce that our Giorgio Bonvicini has been appointed co-chair of the 100% RE Districts Horizontal Working Group of the European Technology and Innovation Platform on Renewable Heating & Cooling (RHC-ETIP), a further milestone in our commitment for the decarbonization of the Heating & Cooling Sector.
In particular, the European Technology and Innovation Platform on Renewable Heating & Cooling (RHC-ETIP) brings together stakeholders from the biomass, geothermal, solar thermal and heat pump sectors – including the related industries such as district heating and cooling, thermal energy storage, and hybrid systems – to define a common strategy for increasing the use of renewable energy technologies for heating and cooling.
Stay tuned for more updates about the results of the Horizontal Working Group focused on Districts Heating & Cooling!
