RINA has been awarded a project for the design of the new International Meeting Facility of ESTEC, the biggest campus of ESA (European Space Agency). As the largest infrastructure ever to be built in ESTEC since 10 years, the building will cost 15M€ and will be at the core of the campus aiming to be a key reference for international conferences about space technologies.
The decision to award us the design came after one year of studies performed in collaboration with SBGA - Blengini Ghirardelli, an architectural company based in Milan. The building is the first step of a wider masterplan study describing the evolution of the ESTEC campus till 2041. The masterplan was delivered by us and SBGA with the support of a Dutch architectural company named ALLARD and it was finally approved by the ESA Directorate in August 2018.
In all these projects we acted as main contractor providing overall coordination (Antonio De Ferrari) and technical expertise (Maja Milojkovic). The projects have been delivered in strict liaison with the ESA ESTEC Facility Management Team.
