Offshore Technology Conference

06 - 09 May 2019

The right place to exchange ideas to advance technical knowledge for offshore resources and environmental matters. Meet with our representatives at booth 8203 to discuss your challenges and our offshore solutions

Globally, the energy industry is in a period of flux. Investments in this market are driven by growing energy demand, tempered by strong pressure to increase efficiency and reduce uplift costs. Furthermore, growing environmental awareness is driving the energy mix transition from fossil fuels to cleaner sources. New energy transmission models are influencing the possibility for a wider population to benefit from electrical power.

In this respect, we support the sustainable growth of energy operators worldwide, to meet market demands both in oil and gas and power generation (conventional and renewables), and power transmission and distribution.

We provide a vast array of solutions, helping operators meet sustainability targets as well as ensure compliance to contractual specifications and international standards.

We are aware that digital innovation represents a challenge for all key energy players, and we work closely with them to transform this challenge into an opportunity. For this reason, digital technology runs through all of our services, from artificial intelligence and big data to predictive data analytics, blockchain and digital twins.

Technical paper 1: Dynamic properties of offshore sands

Session “Geotechnics for offshore renewables” (May 6th 11:20 AM, Pav. 610)

Authors: Daniele Bertalot, Daniela Ausilia Morandi, Luca Ottonello Lorenzo Zuccarino - RINA

Foundation design and geotechnical considerations can represent a significant portion of the cost of offshore renewable developments. This session presents the latest technical state-of-the-art developments in the design and installation of offshore large diameter monopiles. The use of other foundation types such as drilled and grouted piles and bucket foundations is also explored as well as the relevant soil characterization.

Technical paper 2: Seabed seismic motion in presence of seismic induced in-profile liquefaction

Session: Offshore drilling, reservoirs and foundations: solutions for today and tomorrow (May 7th 4:10 PM, Pav. 600)

Authors: Daniele Bertalot, Simone Corciulo, Eric Parker - RINA

The mix of papers in this session address a wide diversity of technologies now being used to reduce the costs, uncertainties, and risks of offshore energy exploration, development, and production. They illustrate comprehensive integration of diverse data types including some combination of reflection seismic, LWD, wireline, soil boring, and geological data to develop robust geological, geomechanical, and ground models.

Offshore Technology Conference

Celebrating 50 years since 1969, the Offshore Technology Conference is where energy professionals meet to exchange ideas and opinions to advance scientific and technical knowledge for offshore resources and environmental matters.
