What is Mercy Ships?

Globally, nearly 5 billion people lack access to safe and affordable surgical care.

Mercy Ships is an international charity that addresses this critical gap by deploying hospital ships equipped with state-of-the-art medical facilities to regions where healthcare access is limited.

Since 1978, these floating hospitals have brought life-changing surgeries directly to underserved communities.

Why we support this cause

We are driven by a clear purpose: contributing to collective progress towards an unimaginable future - one where an essential service like healthcare is accessible to all communities. Supporting Mercy Ships helps bring this vision closer to reality.

RINA Mercy Ships

Running together for a shared mission

Within the framework of Åland Maritime Day in Mariehamn (Finland), RINA through Foreship took part in the Mercy Ships 5 km and 10 km charity race.

This initiative brought together the international maritime community in support of a common goal: improving access to safe surgery worldwide.

More than just a sporting event, the race was a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when people come together for a shared purpose.
