Responsible Jewellery Council

Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) is a non-profit international organisation founded in 2005 and headquartered in London, which promotes responsible practices in the gold and diamond industries.
The RJC scheme is globally recognised and covers the entire chain of mining and processing according to the logic “from mine to jewellery”.
Its certification allows you to assess and attest your best practices from an ethical, social and environmental point of view, in order to manage the aspects of all phases: extraction, workers’ rights and working conditions, transparency of reporting, outsourcing /providers.

The RJC scheme is based on two standards:


RINA is accredited by RJC to provide this service.


Are the COP and COC standards equivalent?
No, COC certification is subsequent to COP certification. However, COP and COC compliance checks can be handled at the same time.

Is self-assessment required before the audit?
Yes, the company must conduct a self-assessment in accordance with the purpose of certification.
