Our geotechnical laboratory testing capabilities range from standard soil and rock tests for site investigations to advanced dynamic and cyclic testing required for complex onshore and offshore developments

Our testing facilities are accredited by an impartial certification body to UNI/EN ISO 17025:2018 (Laboratory No. 02015‑Testing), demonstrating our competence to perform testing activities in accordance with the standard’s requirements. Soil and rock testing services 

We provide a comprehensive range of geotechnical laboratory testing services to support infrastructure, oil & gas and renewable energy projects. Our laboratories are equipped to perform standard, advanced and specialized soil and rock testing, fully compliant with ASTM, ISO and EN standards, ensuring reliable parameters for geotechnical design and analysis. 

Soil testing 

Our soil mechanics laboratories perform tests to determine shear strength, compressibility, density, consolidation and dynamic behaviour of soils, including: 

  • Direct shear and residual shear strength tests 
  • Consolidation testing (Incremental Loading, Constant Rate of Strain)
  • Density and compaction testing 
  • Static, cyclic and dynamic soil testing 

Rock testing  

Our rock mechanics testing services support the assessment of rock strength, deformability and abrasiveness, including: 

  • Brazilian tensile strength and uniaxial compressive strength, with or without elastic parameter
  • Triaxial testing
  • Determination of shear strength of rock joint by direct shear method
  • CERCHAR abrasiveness index (CAI) 

Advanced and offshore geotechnical testing 

For challenging geotechnical conditions, we offer advanced laboratory testing, including: 

  • Drained and undrained triaxial testing (Isotropic, Anisotropic, K0, with local strain and mid height-pwp measurement)
  • Direct simple shear
  • Interface testing (soil-steel ICP method, low normal stress ISB on various interface)
  • Cyclic and Dynamic testing (resonant column, cyclic triaxial, cyclic simple shear)
  • Shear wave velocity measurements using bender elements
