Biodiversity and ecosystem services for sustainable project development

• Understand, reduce, and manage biodiversity-related risks and ecosystem services dependencies and impacts associated with projects through the early screening of biodiversity and ecosystem services and development of technical guidelines in compliance with best practices and national and international standards (e.g., IFC Performance Standard 6, EBRD Performance Requirement 6). 


• improve the relationship with stakeholders by supporting the integration of biodiversity and ecosystem services into the sustainability reporting and by integrating the nature-related frameworks and requirements into business practices (CSRD, TNDF).


• development of biodiversity and ecosystem services action plans, in line with the mitigation hierarchy (from avoidance and mitigation during project design to restoration and offsetting after project development) and prioritizing Nature Based Solutions, to achieve goals of No Net Loss and Net Gain and with the ultimate objective of reaching the global goal of Nature Positive by 2030.  


• development and implementation of technical capacity building and training on biodiversity issues for governments and institutions as well as production of material for the dissemination of knowledge and environmental education on biodiversity and ecosystem services to all educational levels and sectors.   


• support for compliance, audit, due diligence, and authorization processes of projects in conformity with best practices and national and international standards (e.g., IFC Performance Standard 6, EBRD Performance Requirement 6, Natura 2000) by conducting marine and terrestrial surveys and by developing biodiversity baselines and assessments.
