Certification
In the Italian agri-food sector, there is a growing focus on transparency, communication and the enhancement of production quality, now central elements for those seeking reliable products.
Consumers and stakeholders are increasingly attentive to product quality, the origin of raw materials and the environmental impact of production processes: establishing precise and verifiable standards throughout the entire value chain is a fundamental challenge to ensure reliability and competitiveness within the sector.
RINA played a key role as the certification body for the “Eataly alla Radice” project, working closely with Eataly, the University of Palermo and Slow Food Italy.
We validated the technical content of the Supply Chain Specification, ensuring that every technical pillar of the project was supported by objective and measurable requirements, consistent with the principles of coherence, traceability and transparency.
Furthermore, we verified that these requirements were effectively applied at every stage of the supply chain: from the cultivation of durum wheat to the packaging of pasta, specifically spaghetti, linguine, rigatoni and paccheri.
This process helps to strengthen the trust of consumers and stakeholders and to consolidate the shared commitment to a supply chain of excellence that is truly transparent and attentive to the health of the land and the value of local supply chains.
The validation of the “Eataly alla Radice” specification illustrates RINA’s contribution to the enhancement of agri-food supply chains, representing a success story for agricultural and food companies wishing to embark on a path of continuous improvement inspired by the principles of agroecology and the reduction of environmental, social and economic impacts.
Our work combines an innovative vision with a clear objective: to build trust along the entire value chain and promote production models that unite quality, responsibility and transparency.
Through this initiative, RINA strengthens its role as a third-party independent technical partner for those who choose the path of innovation, respecting local areas and communities, and contributing to a sustainable, traceable and authentically Italian food future.
