Our advanced CGS facility, equipped with a state-of-the-art Impact 5/11 system and robotic automation, enables us to develop and validate tailored repair strategies directly on real components, ensuring reliability and scalability for industrial needs.
Cold Gas Spray is a solid-state deposition process where metallic powders are accelerated to supersonic speeds and bonded to substrates without melting. This unique approach offers several key advantages over traditional repair methods such as welding or thermal spray:
• Minimal oxidation & low thermal impact: operating below the melting point of materials, drastically reduces oxidation and preserving the original properties of the component.
• Thick, dense, and well-adhered layers: enables the deposition of thick coatings (up to several millimeters) with excellent adhesion and minimal porosity.
• Versatility in materials: RINA has developed proprietary alloys and composite coatings to address specific industrial challenges.
• Sustainable and cost-effective: Cold Spray repair can extend the operative life of components, reduce waste, and lower costs by refurbishing parts instead of replacing them.
