RINA Consulting S.p.A. adopts a Management System for Social Responsibility compliant with the SA 8000:2014 Standard

RINA Consulting S.p.A., a company of the RINA S.p.A. Group, recognizes the value of work and respect for the person as fundamental ethical principles underlying its activity. It shares and respects the principles contained in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Rights of the Child, in the ILO conventions, in Italian labor regulations and respects collective bargaining with the social partners. RINA Consulting S.p.A. is committed to responsible business conduct, to contribute to achieving the objectives of the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development, in line with the principles of the United Nations Global Compact and with the indications of the OCSE Guidelines for multinational companies.

In order to promote the dissemination of our ethical values within the company, demonstrate the ability to operate in compliance with the rights of individuals and workers, guarantee a working environment compliant with the highest safety standards and always operate in compliance with the regulations at national and international level, RINA Consulting S.p.A. adopts a Management System for Social Responsibility compliant with the SA8000:2014 Standard.

Our company policy always guarantees respect for individuals and national and international labor regulations and protects health and safety in the workplace.

In particular, the following are not permitted or tolerated, even at suppliers:

  • Any form of child labor (in Italy under 16 years of age).
  • The limitation of the individual freedom of workers and the use of forced or compulsory labor.
  • The limitation of freedom of association and association.
  • Discriminatory behavior for reasons of ethnicity, sex, religion, thought, and any other factor specified by the SA8000:2014 Standard.
  • The adoption of disciplinary measures that do not respect the dignity of the person.

They are always guaranteed and protected: 

  • Health and safety in the workplace and a working environment that respects health and safety regulations
  • Freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining.
  • The right of workers to working hours compliant with current legislation and employment contracts that provide for appropriate rest periods, and the voluntary nature of overtime work.
  • The right to receive a decent salary sufficient to satisfy the person's primary needs and to guarantee compensation for the work performed.

RINA Consulting S.p.A. has set up its own Social Performance Team which periodically carries out an assessment of the risks related to Social Responsibility and monitors compliance with the Standard. At least once a year it verifies the effectiveness of this Social Responsibility Policy through the System Review, during which all
opportunities for improving company performance are evaluated, through the definition and verification of the achievement of specific objectives.

Employees and interested parties can make reports and/or complaints in relation to facts and events relating to the workplace and/or in conflict with the principles of Social Responsibility and the contents of the SA 8000:2014 Standard via the whistleblowing platform available on the whistleblowing.rina.org page. Furthermore, it is possible to file reports with the Certification Body SGS Italia S.p.A., at the address sa8000@sgs.com or with the Social Accountability Accreditation Services, SAAS, at the address: saas@saasaccreditation.org
