How we work

We support clients in the design, qualification and life performance evaluation of materials and components operating in complex environments where loads and corrosive fluids act simultaneously. We assist manufacturers and plant operators in the development and optimisation of industrial procedures and processes: melting and casting, descaling, pickling, annealing, combustion, electroplating, water treatment and energy recovery.

We develop new technologies for waste valorisation and energy recovery for integrated industrial systems. We can do this because of our deep understanding of material behaviour and thanks to the availability of:

  • Laboratories (metallography, mechanical, corrosion and stress corrosion).
  • Pilot plants (melting and remelting, powder production, hot and cold rolling, annealing, welding and coating).
  • Full-scale testing facilities (frames for premium connections qualification, equipment for burst tests, test rigs for special testing, combustion station).

We use modelling to design, support and verify our engineering, pilot production and testing activities, providing strong expertise in structural, thermal, dynamic, and thermodynamic analyses using Finite Element Method (FEM) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Furthermore, we can provide Noise & Vibration engineering services to optimize acoustic and vibrational comfort across all industrial sectors.

We are committed to decarbonisation. We make our expertise available to ensure material compatibility with hydrogen, ammonia, methanol, carbon dioxide, supporting the adoption of alternative fluids propulsion technologies. We also promote new technologies for CO₂ capture and storage and new manufacturing processes for the green steel production.
