Mechanical testing laboratory for the marine industry

Our mechanical testing laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, capable of performing a wide range of tests for the marine industry and other industrial sectors, including:

• Tensile testing at both elevated temperatures (up to 1000°C) and ambient temperature, using testing machines with load capacities up to 600 kN.
• Compression and crushing tests.
• Charpy impact testing from ambient temperature down to -196°C, using a 450 J impact pendulum.
• Hardness testing according to Brinell, Vickers, Rockwell B, and Rockwell C methods.
• Bend and fracture testing on welded materials.

We also perform characterisation testing of composite materials, including both monolithic and sandwich structures, in compliance with marine regulations and industry requirements.

Our main composite testing services include:

• Tensile testing.
• Compression testing.
• Flexural testing.
• Shear testing.
• Non-combustible content determination.

All testing activities are carried out in accordance with UNI, EN, ASTM, ISO, ASME, AWS, and other internationally recognized standards.

In addition to standard mechanical testing, we can provide more advanced services such as fracture mechanics testing, creep testing, fatigue testing, and other specialised material performance evaluations.
