Our projects

Ports of Indiana | Jeffersonville Bulk Terminal

The Jeffersonville Bulk Loading Terminal was delivered as a design-build project for the Ports of Indiana. 
 
The new facility unloads grain and fertilizer products from railcars or trucks and loads them directly onto barges on the Ohio River. The project included design, permitting, procurement, and installation of a half-mile rail loop with a rail scale, rail dump building and pit, marine mooring improvements, conveyance systems, and supporting site infrastructure. 
 
By combining civil, structural, rail, electrical, permitting, construction management, and general contracting services, we helped deliver a multi-modal terminal that connects rail, truck, and river transportation. 

Ports of Indiana | Jeffersonville Bulk Terminal

South Carolina Ports Authority | Wando Welch Terminal - Refrigerated Shipping Container Facility

At the Wando Welch Terminal near Charleston, the South Carolina Ports Authority needed a new refrigerated container service area within an active port facility. 
 
We constructed the new service area, which included removal of surcharge soil, approximately 30,000 square yards of concrete pavement, a container service canopy, a container wash canopy with hydraulic rack, and expansion of electrical and communication systems. Concrete was batched on site to meet production needs. 
 
The project required careful coordination with port operations and adherence to an aggressive schedule while keeping facility activity moving. 

South Carolina Ports Authority | Wando Welch Terminal - Refrigerated Shipping Container Facility

NRG | Collins Generating Station Dockwall Repairs

NRG contacted our company to assist in the evaluation and repair of an old dock wall that had experienced a structural failure at their former Collins Generating Station in Morris, Illinois.

We performed investigation and design services, along with construction estimates, to stabilize and partially demolish the dock wall for future stability and safety. The design approach was selected in order to reduce the risk of failure and to mitigate the safety risk to the general public on the adjacent Illinois River.

We also served as the general contractor to perform the repairs, which included demolition of select upper portions of the dock wall, slope stabilization, underwater demolition, and tieback installation.

Following completion of the repairs, our design team performed additional monitoring services to help detect any pending failures along other sections of the wall before they might occur.
