PLAN APPROVAL ENGINEER based in HAMBURG - GERMANY

Tasks:

Plan Approval Engineer performs detailed engineering plan review, for compliance to applicable RINA rules, International conventions and contractual requirements, and failure analysis of shipboard mechanical systems including but not limited to propulsion systems, gears, compressors, piping systems, boilers and pressure vessels, cranes etc.

This position involves conventional engineering practices as well as the resolution of complex issues related to conflicting design requirements, material standards, and coordination of multi-disciplinary activities.

Plan Approval Engineer will closely work with RINA Head Office Plan approval team and with testing surveyors and clients on specific projects.

Qualifications:

§         Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Naval Architecture

§         Pronounced technical understanding and familiarity with RINA Class Rules and International Conventions (SOLAS, MARPOL etc.)

§         Experience in ship equipment design and/or maintenance

§         Team worker, yet also accustomed to working independently and under pressure

§         Shipyard or operational experience in an engineering function

§         Problem solving and client oriented attitude

§         MS Office skills and good level of technical English, both spoken and written
