Principal Responsibilities:
Co-ordinating and managing the activities and personnel of the Sector, in order to:
- partecipate in rule development activities, at international and national level.
- monitor rule, technical and technological developments, with a view to improving technical competences
- design and deliver training courses towards internal and external Clients
- provide technical assistance and specialized services to Administrations, Authorities, internal and external Clients.
Education:
- University Degree in Naval Architecture or Mechanical Engineering. Other related engineering disciplines will be considered based on Candidate's work experience.
Candidate specifications:
- Around 35 - 40 of age
- European Community national
- Knowledge of design and construction principles of ship propulsion plants (main and auxiliary engines, reduction gears, shaft lines, etc.)
- Familiarity with Classification Societies rules and regulations
Professional experience:
- Practical experience in co-ordination and supervision of testing, installation, maintenance and repair of ship propulsion plants ;
- Practical experience in quality production control of machinery equipment, components and materials;
Personal skills and abilities:
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
- Good communication skills as well as ability to work both independently and in a team.
- Experience with technical writing and preparing formal reports / technical papers for training courses, meetings, conferences.
- Ability to manage conflicts and to negotiate.
- Ability to work on tight schedules.
