In accordance with the latest amendments to
Annex VI, starting from 1st
January 2013, each ship of 400 GT and above will be required to have a Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plan (SEEMP) on board.
For existing ship, SEEMP is required to be available on board not later than the first intermediate or renewal survey of the IAPP Certificate occurring after 1st January 2013, whichever is the sooner.
RINA SERVICES can help shipping companies to prepare a SEEMP complying with the applicable rules and, using our technical know-how, to identify the best solutions to be implemented on the particular ship to achieve the energy objectives of the Company.
RINA SERVICES can help also in the periodical maintenance of the plan, including the calculation of the identified KPIs.
WHY RINA SERVICES?
RINA SERVICES can help shipping company in the calculation of the EEOI (Energy Efficiency Operational Indicator) prescribed by IMO as monitoring tool, by the software tool EPIC.
EPIC proposed also different types of Key Performance Indicators for all ships to which IMO EEOI is not applicable.
Moreover EPIC allows calculating the ship’s CO2 emissions in a period of time the customer may define.
Is SEEMP required for all ship types?
The requirement is applicable for all ship types, except for offshore platforms (including FPSOs and FSUs) and drilling rigs, regardless of their propulsion.
