RINA SERVICES certifies the
ship recycling management system in accordance with ISO 30000:2009
, and provides the Green Passport Plus.
This document, in application of the requirements of the Hong Kong International Convention for the Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships, contains information with regard to potentially hazardous materials utilized in the construction of the ship, its equipment and systems.
This standard is developed taking into account IMO Resolution MEPC.197(62) – 2011 Guidelines for the Development of the Inventory of Hazardous Materials.
The first and most important benefit is the minimization of the potential problems related to health, safety and protection of the environment in the recycling facilities.

- comply with Hong Kong Convention
- comply with the incoming European regulation on ship recycling
- comply with one of the requirements of the additional class notations GREEN STAR and GREEN PLUS.
WHY RINA SERVICES?
RINA SERVICES has carefully followed the development of the regulation requirements on ship recycling, since the first draft of the Hong Kong Convention, and is ready to issue statement of compliance for the different phases of the process: Inventory of Hazardous Material and Ready to Recycling statements.
The statements are issued, on a voluntary basis, to ships for which evidence of their compliance to the Hong Kong Convention is given through documentation and visit on board.
