GlobalGAP certification

GlobalGAP certification, a competitive advantage in the agriculture and food market, is aimed at defining the standards for the development of the best production techniques in the fruit and vegetable and nursery gardening areas, as well as at responding to the growing food and environmental safety requirements.

Conformity with GlobalGAP standard, audited by a third-party company such as RINA SERVICES, is an appreciated element of qualification for producers, in particular for suppliers to leading European and international retailers.

Drawn up in 1997 by Eurep (Euro Retailer Produce Working Group) as an initiative by some of the main European distribution chains, GlobalGAP defines the production standard for fruit and vegetables and is shared and accepted by the main European distribution groups.

The application of GlobalGAP standard is a competitive advantage and generates an exponential increase in the customer portfolio, as it clearly and transparently defines the health and safety characteristics of products and, in the long-term, reduces production costs.

The GlobalGAP is a real and proper set of guidelines for food farming practices, leading to the creation of an integrated management system comprising the rules of production and marketing of fruit, vegetables and fresh produce in general.

RINA SERVICES puts the excellence of the services it provides and customer satisfaction at the heart of its mission. Thanks to the skills matured over time in the agriculture and food sector, we are a reference point for organisations wishing to access the most important European markets, where the GlobalGAP certification is one of the most important supplier selection criteria.
